lets say i have my own insurance card with my name on it & the rest of my familys name but my mom is the one who has the account and pays the bill, gets the bill etc..If I go to the Dr & get a prescription will she get any kind of bill or notice in the mail saying I went to the Dr & filled the prescription...(I dont want her to find out)....I am 18 & i dont live at home so I can do everything without her....If there is something sent is there anyway to avoid her finding out? Thanks

If you have a PPO or indemnity plan then she will get and EOB (explanation of benefits) showing the name of the doctor, the patient's name, and the date of service-as well as showing what your responsibility of payment is.~~

  3. Hi Daniel,

    The Explanation of Benefit's that I've received from my health insurance show the date I saw the doctor, the doctor that I saw, and that I had an office visit.  They  do not show the medical reason (diagnosis) code that I saw the doctor.  The bills that I have received from the doctor's office also don't show a diagnosis code either.  If you pick up your prescription on your own, then you will be the only one to know what prescription that you picked up.  Your mom won't receive a bill from the pharmacy.
