Question:

Medical Insurance between school breaks?

My daughter will graduate from college this summer and thinks to take a year break before going to graduate school. She is currently under my insurance policy, which covers for child who is independent and under age 21 or a full time student under age 25. My daughter will be 22, so if she is not in school, she will not be covered. I am not sure she can easily find full time job that provides the insurance since she just wants to work for a short time. If not, what options does she have?Is there a short term insurance avaliable for the situation like this?

  1. Yes, this is exactly what short term health insurance is for. There are also student insurance plans available that might cover her during the break. Visit a local independent agent that works with all the major companies to see what plans are available in your area. There is no extra charge using an agent. If you need help finding an agent you can use this website: http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/oos... put in the notes you are looking for short term insurance.
