This is not a question anyone can give you with accuracy, since it is based on your knowledge, education/training, paid experience, the city and state you live in and what exactly you want to to as an medical office specialist. There are so many different avenues that you can venture down. For instance you can be a

office manager, medical biller/coder, ward clerk, patient advocate, claims examiner, adjuster and just about anything in the medical field that does not require hands on patient care. Here in the part of California I live in you can make anywhere between $12 and $25 dollars an hour and it will also determinwhere or should I say what company/Dr you work for. Now in Las Vegas you can start out making $18 an hour. I would reccomend becoming a certified coder or a HIPAA compliance officer now this is wher your money comes in  and once you become a certified coder you can network and start your own billing company or better yet you can work for a consulting company getting these hospitals and physicians out of the red by educating the staff on the correct way of billing, coding and collecting.
