In Medical School, how will you know your grade? -Will it be like a percentage(%) or just a pass/fail?

-So no top ranks? Everyone is just equal?

Thank you.

  1. My son is a first year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.  They do receive grades as a percentage of correct answers on their exams.  And there are class ranks - one or two will be at the top and then so on down.

  2. The actual names differ depending on the school, but you get grades based on how well you do. For example, a common system is to reward grades such as Fail, Pass, High Pass, and Pass with Honors. Those are in order of excellence. You want high marks, because that's how you get good residencies.
