  3. Year 12 - subjects such as maths, english, biology, chemistry, physics are important for entry into Medicine.

You have to have your high school certificate.

If you a mature aged student, you might want to consider going back to school to gain your HSC/ VCE/ SACE (or otherwise), before doing a couple of COMPULSORY entry exams for university.

  4. Depending on the country and their education system, it varies. In Ireland, a minimum of 6 subjects is allowed in high school. You can do more if you want...(some do 9) Each subject at higher level has a maximum of 100 points and at ordinary level 60 points. After the exams, your best 6 subjects scores are taken...In Ireland the average points for medicine is 580/600. And at least two science subjects are required. This means that those who want to do medicine have to do all their subjects at higher level to have a chance of attaining such points!!
