  1. meningitis and tetnus?? are you going to PR or the amazon?

  2. Vaccinations for Travel to Puerto Rico (U.S.)

The following medical vaccinations are desirable or helpful for travel to Puerto Rico (U.S.) to prevent contagious diseases in Puerto Rico (U.S.):

hepatitis A - or immune globulin (IG)

hepatitis B - if risk of exposure to blood/bodily fluid or medical treatment or if your stay will be longer than 6 months, all infants and children 11-12 years who did not complete the series as infants

rabies - if you might be exposed to wild or domestic animals through your work or recreation

    typhoid

tetanus - booster dose as needed, diphtheria - booster dose as needed, measles - booster dose as needed

  3. Puerto Rico is a US Commonwealth. People have all the same vaccinations done in PR as the US. You won't catch any crazy diseases. Just make sure you normal shots are up to date & you will be fine. The water & food are even safe to consume and follow FDA standards. You should bring some mosquito repellent because the Mosquito's can cause Dengue Fever. Also avoid dusk & dawn outside because thats when they bite.

While in San Juan you should check out Old San Juan, El Morro Fort & try some authentic food. If you want to explore more, leave San Juan and see El Yunque Rainforest, the biobay, Camuy Caves & Arecibo Telescope. Enjoy!

  4. Puerto Rico is a colony of the USA and they also are forced to received the same "vaccinations" as second-class citizen of the USA.

    My 2 cents.

  5. u wont have any problems, puerto rico its not a third world country. u wont get any weird diseases. u just need ur common shots, like required in the states. u will be fine.

  6. you dont need any shots to go to Puerto Rico. Health style is safe and just need to protect yourself from the sun.

  7. You should be fine with what you have, other than taking a precaution with the mosquitos.
