Question

in what states can doctors prescribe marijuana?

i know it's not legal, but some doctors do it anyway?

what are the best states if i want medical marijuana and do you know of any good links?

My first thought was San Francisco, CA...the answerer that said NORML is absolutely right, we have a branch here...and they're all over.  It'll tell you what you want to know.

The states that allows medical marijuana are Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

It's legal by the states, but not federal government, but there's laws that protects medical marijuana patients.

By far the best state for medical marijuana is California (I live in Cali), we have a large selection and our MMJ quality is way better. Plus, there's much more cannabis dispensaries over here than in any other state (especially in Hollywood).

Marijuana can not be "prescribed" by any doctor in any state. In order for a drug to be "prescribed" it has to be approved by the FDA.

However, in the 12 states that is it legal, you need a doctor's "recommendation" in order to get a medical marijuana ID card which will allow you to use and possess it.

Under state law, 12 states currently provide legal protection for seriously ill patients whose doctors recommend the medical use of marijuana: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, and Vermont.
