  1. I understand that it can be very much a hassle to keep up with two insurances.  However when you have two in the same household but share kids and are unmarried it is best for both of you to cover your children. And no they cannot take your insurance away because of two policies as long as you are paying.

The reason I am saying this is because, when you go to the hospital or your private physician you are not only insured with one policy but also two policies. Double the coverage.

They will use the best of two policies as your primary and then whatever is left they will bill to the secondary insurance. Believe or not you could end up with a very small bill if any.

Also when it comes to signing up for an insurance plan through your employer it is usually cheaper to carry on a whole family now then later and also cheaper on your pocketbook in the future.

If you look at the plan family plans usually run close in price to that of an individual.  Believe me I am glad that I signed up on both it has saved me about 70 percent on my pocketbook that I did not have to fork out in medical bills.  You know how kids are.
