Medical uni? i live in Scotland and i am wanting to go to med school/uni in america ... my question?

my question is would i have to retrain in the uk if was to work there rather than america after i graduate?

  2. If you completed all of your education and residency training in the US, you would have to take the PLAB exam, which is an equivalent exam to the USMLE, in order to practice in the UK.  You would be considered a foreign educated physician.

    You might want to reconsider your plans from a financial perspective.  You won't be able to get a student loan is the US.  In addition, you must have the prerequisite courses for US medical schools and have taken the MCAT exam in order to apply.  The majority of US medical schools also require foreign educated students to attend a minimum of one year at an undergraduate university before they can apply to a US medical school.
