I have a question on medication and dosages on, for example, in the use of Lidocane in adults. when it says the initial dose of 1.0-1.5mg/kg, does this mean 1.0-1.5mgs for every kg the patient ways? or what?

  1. Yes. For example : if the dose is 1.5mg/kg a 70 kg man would get 70kg x 1.5mg/kg =105mg. He would be given 105mg.

    If you need to convert pounds to kg: 2.2lbs = 1 kg
