Medication/alcohol question?

I just got prescribed medicine, and the pharmacist said to not drink alcohol while taking it, at least until 48 hours later. I haven't started taking the medication. If I drank a lot last night should I wait to start taking it? How long?

  1. 48 hours later, if that's what the pharmacist said.  Otherwise, you are risking your health.


  2. How about following the Pharmacists guidelines?! I think you are able to answers this question for yourself!

  3. I would just wait til tomorrow. And start drinking a lot of water now to get to help get the alcohol out of your system.  

  4. Yes I will follow the guidelines the pharmacist told you, I'am a pharmacy tech so I know.  Certain drugs can't interact with alcohol because it can cause serious reactions, vomiting, headaches,flushing, and abdominal cramps.
