Medication causing side effects..

I've been taking zoloft for 4 days and it's been causing me to wake up at 5 in the morning with an awful stomach pain, and it's causing me to feel sick all day. I only have one question and that is, if I keep taking the med, will my body get used to it and the side effects stop?

  1. If it is bothersome, you should tell your doctor so he can prescribe something else.

  2. do what they say on commercials for med: TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!

  3. Upset stomachs are very common when taking new meds. Sometimes you get over them as your body adjusts to the chemicals, but sometimes they are a warning sign for something bigger.

Upset stomachs are more common in woman because of their menstrual cycle. If you are near that time of the month, this could be a reason.

Either way, I would call your doctor and let him know. Also from what I can remember from class, zoloft is an anti-depressant right? If so, you may want to ask your doctor for an alternative prescription that may not cause affect you in this way.
