how long does it take for medication to get into your system? I take lexapro but im also bulimic, i usually take my medication around 10 but then purge around 1. I havnt felt it working yet and im wondering if maybe im getting rid of it before it has a chance to get into my system.

  1. it does take a few hours for medication to start working normally but with lexapro, it will not start taking effect anyway until you've taken it for at least a week.


  2. you may want to try to take it a hour or two before 10. I have been praying for you with these problems.  I really hope you find something that works for you! I have been trough things like this and I fell so much  better after all this time. With work and will power and prayers you can get though all of this.

  3. After three hours, it's definitely in your system. You don't feel it work because it's not that kind of drug. Clonazepam, for example, is pretty easily detected once it starts to kick in. Drugs like Lexapro and Wellbutrin act gradually.
