Question:

Medication treatment for PDD

Does anyone know of a medication or combination of medications that can be used to treat PDD symptoms without weightgain. So far the Dr has tried Risperdal (ended up with 14 lb gain in 1 month), abilify (caused extreme mood swings and fussyness) and now Zyprexa which again seems to be making him gain weight already after just 3 days plus he is having to sleep 12 hrs to get his sleep out which means going to bed at 7 pm to get up at 7 am (school starts in 3 wks) which means once school starts and he gets home from school and therapy he will barely have time for supper, bath and then go to bed and somewhere during that time fit in homework in order to get to bed on time. Also the weightgain is causing him to have asthma attacks and now he is showing signs of early diabetes (he was hypoglycemic at birth). So just wondering if anyone else has experienced any good things from some meds that didn't cause the weight gain or increase in sugar levels in the body. My Bf was thinking adderal as that helps his boys but I am not sure. My son is very hyper and lacks impulse control during the daytime.
