Applying to Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College London and UCL requires candidates to sit the Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT). What I don't get is that the next exam is on the 5th of November 2008 and the application deadling is on the 15th of October 2008. I'm confused... You apply first then you take the BMAT exam? Or should I have done the BMAT last year? I'm in year 12 at the moment going on year 13.

  1. You apply then sit the exam.  By the time the unis I applied to got round to interviewing me, the results of the BMAT were released to them anyway, so they had those to torture me with at the interview.

But check that your school is willing ot register as a centre to let you do the BMAT there, or that you can dfind somewhere that is registered/will register.

    (and good luck!)

  2. You need to register to do the BMAT. normally at your college. Then submit application by 15th and sit the BMAT on the date the universities you have applied to get the result.

  3. I would call one of the universities and ask whether it is ok for you to take the BMAT on the 5th November. Explain to them that you are currently in the process of applying to them and had an issue with the dates.

  4. Yeh you apply first, I mean you will apply before sitting most of your A-level exams so it aint that wierd!

  5. Yes, probably best to call one of the Universities for help.
