  1. Medieval Clothing

If you were rich you would probably own a variety of clothes, in the latest styles and colours. If you were a poor peasant, you may only own one tunic. Although it was possible to obtain silks and other luxurious materials from abroad, they were very expensive. Most clothing therefore was made out of wool. This meant that clothing in the Medieval period was itchy, difficult to wash and dry and very hot in the summer.

    Medieval Food

The plates used by the Normans were made out of wood. Sometimes they used large slices of day-old bread as plates for the meat and sometimes they ate out of bowls. Although they had knives and spoons, there were no forks, so people used their fingers a great deal. The rich always ate well, even during winter. The rich could afford to buy salt to preserve their meat all the year round. They could also afford pepper to spice tasteless food or food which was beginning to go bad.

Note: Noble and royal females (queens, princesses, ladies) held responsibilities equal to the male king or prince. It wasn't until later though, toward the end of the 13th Century that women began to appear on battlefields as fighters as well.

  2. Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth I, Joanna of Castile (Joanna the Mad).  Google her name on the internet.  I like Joanna, because not to many people know about her.  She had 6 children, most notably Charles V.  When her husband died, she became mentally unstable and refused to leave his body.  I'm sure you could write something on that.

  3. hm, maybe its a little earlier, but how about Boudeccia.

I saw it once on wikipedia, a list of queens, so just google that and find one that you like the sound of and right date, and then google her name and you'll get more than enough info!!

how about Eleanor of Aquitaine? she had a few husbands, had some weird kids, was spoiled, and was in exile by her husband.

with the letter, just write some information but in language you use with your friends. like writing an essay without the formalities and make it casual.

  4. Eleanor was quite a gal - but so was Queen Maud (aka Matilda) who fought her cousin King Stephen for the English throne around 1100 AD.

The clothes and painful hairstyles might give you a clue, as might the concept of "Courtly love".

    Get googling, love!

  5. As one poster mentioned, I will say Eleanor of Acquitaine. She was a woman who wielded extraordinary power--one of the most powerful women of her time--she was Queen of France before becoming Queen of England. She held sway over many of her own territories--and is said that she was held in high esteem by her husband, King Henry. He respected her and asked for her opinions in matters of state--she literally ruled side by side with him--until she showed too much of her power in meddling with state affairs--and the King had her imprisoned for many years!
