Question:

Meditation: Do you think anyone has the right to judge another's practice?

Recently, another person criticized the way I practice, saying that one should not have a master to guide them. I follow the guidance of my lama, who is lineage holder of his ancient and venerable tradtion of Buddhism. It has never even been a question with me: I leave others to practice the way that works for them, and am puzzled by this person's arrogant -no, ignorant- assumption that he is not only qualified, but in any way invited to make judgments about another's practice. Anybody out there have any opinions on another person telling someone else that their way of doing their spiritual way is incorrect and unacceptable?????

  1. I believe that as long as you feel comfortable with the way you practice, then no one else has the authority to judge it. Everyone has their own way of doing the same thing, and there is definately no "right" way to meditate. Whatever achieves enlightenment for you is what you should keep on doing!!

  2. I personally think this is wrong. People do everything, in their own ways. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, their just haters.
