Mediterranean Sea to bring a warm breeze to Southwell for the Exclusive Free Betting with Freebetting.co.uk Handicap
An exciting line-up of runners will be competing at Southwell in the Exclusive Free Betting with Freebetting.co.uk Handicap, on 6th March 2012. The 7 runners will be competing over 1 mile and 6 furlongs for £2,386.
Mediterranean Sea is the creating a buzz among the punters and the bookmakers. She has been performing terrifically and is entering this race as a favourite with odds of 2 to 1.
She will be competing against Cotton King, Storm Hawk, First Rock, Magic Millie, Ace Serve, and Irish Jugger. These runners are likely to give Mediterranean Sea a serious run for her money.
Trained by J. R. Jenkins, the 6-year-old mare has raised the expectations of the punters and the bookmakers, all because of her outstanding hat-trick.
The daughter of Medecis, out of High Glider, caused an adrenaline rush among the spectators as she raced towards the wire first in the 32RedPoker.com Handicap, at Southwell, on 9th November, 2011. She stole the competition doing justice to her
status as the race favourite as she defeated Mecox Bay by 5 lengths.
A performance of this magnitude was not expected from the mare at the start of this race as she held up towards the rear, where as Mecox Bay looked prominent and stronger. Mediterranean Sea switched towards the right and stayed on well at a steady pace,
comfortably gaining the victory.
Her opening race of 2012 was just as impressive. This time she thrashed all competition, including Absolute Princess, who finished as a runner-up by a narrow distance of 1 ½ lengths, in the Play Golf Before Racing At Southwell Handicap, at Southwell, on
2nd February, 2012.
She repeated the same technique of staying in the rear but gained pace as she reached the final furlong, leading to the much deserved victory.
Storm Hawk’s winning streak could not materialise as he landed in 6th in his most recent race after two consecutive wins in first place.
He finished at this position in the Book Your Tickets On Line At Southwell-Racecourse.co.uk Handicap, held at Southwell, on 14th February, 2012.
He was held in the rear and was soon ridden out. He had no chance of keeping up with the leader as he reached the final furlong.
Pat Eddery, the 5-year-old gelding’s trainer, was looking forward for the hat-trick. Despite his short-coming in the last race, the son of Hawk Wing, out of Stormy Larissa, has a chance to claim a placed finish.
Magic Millie fell from 1st place to last place in her most recent performance. This was a great a fall as the 5-year-old mare had bagged a victory at the Wolverhampton Hospitality – A Pleasure Handicap, at Wolverhampton, on 17th February,
2012, by defeating Lakota Ghost by 1 ¼ length.
Her trainer, Alastair Lidderdale, is hoping that she will be able to redeem herself with this race.
The bettors are highly in favour of Mediterranean Sea and they are rooting for her to finish in first place. Storm Hawk and Magic Millie are strong competitors likely to finish in second and third place respectively.
