Mediterranean countries?

I'm wondering what countries qualify as Mediterranean. If a person is Egyptian and Moroccan, are they Mediterranean? What is the definition of Mediterranean? Thanks a lot.

the correct definition is obviously any country with a shoreline on the Mediterranean

however, in northern Europe where I live, if we talked about something being Mediterranean we would almost always be referring to southern Europe (Italy, south of France etc) not usually the north of Africa
