Medium/Format???????

ok on my portfolio inventory sheet it says name of piece, medium/format, dimension and date completed...i filled out everything else but what does medium/format mean?? someone said it means what program did u use to make it but i always knew that medium/format went with cameras.. i drew and painted all this pic so can anyone tell me what that means because i have to have this in by Monday...plz help

While there certainly is such a things as a medium format camera ( film and digital) Here it does not say medium format it says medium/format. So Αντώνης is completely correct. What medium did you use was it film or digital. If it ws film  was it negative film or transparency and what type film did you use . Format is what size was the film or sensor.

Well, "medium format" is the 120 film, you know, 6 x 6.

But I think they meant "medium" as in digital v.s. film (and what size)

and format as in "jpg v.s. tiff (or whatever)"

I had to read this a few times-  medium/format  what meduim did you use for the pic and what format did you use.  Simply it is asking

1. what did you do?

2. How did you do it?

And yes Medium Format Camera is a camera that uses 120 film that produces a larger negative thereby getting more detail.  Popular with wedding photographers and landscape photographers.

did you shoot on film or dig, what size, apsc, FF dig, 35mm film, 4x5 film, 6x7 et cetera

in this context, medium/format does NOT refer to a type of film.

because you're turning in reproductions of your work, you need to tell them what kind of work you made because they won't have the original to look at and critique. medium/format just refers to the original medium you used to create the work.

you should write down what kind of piece you made and what the materials are.  here are some examples:

Painting, oil on canvas

Drawing, graphite on paper
