  1. If you want build quality & reliability in this class, then definitely go for either Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. No contest.

You don't want cars that are cheap to repair, you want cars that don't need repairing  - that's where these two shine.

As before, it's a fallacy to say that Fords are cheap to repair or parts are cheap - it's just not the case.

  2. I'm presuming you're in the UK? If you are, how about a Toyota Yaris or the Suzuki Splash? Both are nice cars to drive and have a feeling of spaciousness about them.

Have a look at the dealership websites.

    www.toyota.co.uk

    www.suzuki.co.uk

  3. A Ford Focus or seat Altea?

  4. I always go for Peugeot and Renault. Peugeot 107 or 207, and Renault Clio or Twingo are great!

  5. I would go for one of the following:

focus - great car all rounder

corrola - prices are a little expensive

    civic - nice car again

astra - if you are lucky u should be able to get the new shape for under 5k

Others i wouldn't personally wouldn't go for but u might

    seat, 307, golf, c3, megane, bravo, A-Class

Wildcard- bmw 3 series, you can pick-up a nice one (318i) for about £5k that should be around a Y reg SE spec, around 70 thousand miles, bmw engines are bullet proof. Servicing is not that expensive my local does it for £180 - does not matter which type.

Personally i like the astra because of the new shape or the BMW

  6. The mercedes Benz 180cdi is very good and reliable and good on fuel 39mpg local 54mpg on a run

  7. A new/used Mazda 6 is a good choice.
