Meeting new friends in manila as a foreigner?

Hi. As a foreigner working in Manila with practically zero friends, can you suggest a way how I can meet new friends and meet people here in Manila? The bar and the church is out of the question since I don't like using the church for my own personal purposes :)

People in the Philippines are really really friendly. Even though I live here, there are many polite people here.

Since you're a foreigner, Filipinos treat foreigners with sincere respect and courtesy. ( that's our habit )

I know you'll eventually find a friend. You just have to explore more.

How about Museums? The museum is a great place to look for a person who shares your interests. Have you been to Ayala Museum, in Makati? Or Ocean Park right behind Quirino Grandstand.

You mentioned that you're working in Manila, why don't you start where you work. Make friends there, and I'm sure it'll branch out.

just continue yapping and you get to know people on here.  sometimes they do have a meet up with the blessing of yahoo.

There are lots of "friendly" people. You have to be wise in choosing friends.

it's impossible to not make friends in the philippines! haha u just go to public places or something, u ride the jeepneys right? start talking to someone while on ur ride to work/elsewhere..

Suggestions to meet friends:

1. Join a club

2. Neighbors

3. Join a friendly meetup (you can browse over www.meetup.com and select your location from there)

4. Hang around with your colleagues at work

5. Join online groups of expats and foreigners, a few group meets in person.

how about malls...or just stay here on YAP...
