  1. !

I had this same exact problem! My phone bill was out of the roof because of megabyte usage, and it took us forever to figure out what it was from.

It turns out that megabyte usage if from browzing the web, and from going on Get-it-now. Just searching for ringtones counts as megabyte usage.

  2. "Megabyte Usage" is basically the overall size of the internet files (pictures, maps, emails, blogs, songs, web pages count too since they are just connected files, really ANYTHING you get off the web.  See this Question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... ) that You've viewed through your phone.  Text Messaging doesn't count, since TMs get sent through the phone system as a "data packet" and are VERY small.  This entire answer in Text would be less than 1 KB EASILY...

Pictures can easily be  4 to 5 MB.  On your home PC or laptop look in Your "My Documents" folder and change the "View" to "Detail".  Mostly it will show the file size "KB".  It takes 1024 KB to make up a "MB", but You'll be able to see how easy it is to use a MB.

Some tips for keeping it low:

    1) Not browsing the web on your phone, or using it to sit in a "chat room" (every exchanged message counts toward your MB usage).

    2) Using TMs instead of emails.

    3) Never opening emails with ATTACHMENTS from your phone.  Read only text e-mails from your phone.  If you can, set your email preferences (usually through your Phone provider's website) to deliver emails as TEXT ONLY (those cute little pictures people put at the end can be 1 MB each).  Have your friends send emails with attachments to a freebie account and check it with your lap-top or PC.

    4) Not using your phone as a modem for your laptop (Don't kow if you do THAT, but it could drive your bill up)

  3.   Anything that they consider usage of the internet they bill for, that includes picture and text message. Your best bet is to buy the vcast package which gives you the unlimited mobile web.
