Megan Romano secures Women’s 100m back-stroke crown: Day two – 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals
Megan Romano won the 100m back-stroke A Final on day two of the USA Swimming Sectionals in Athens, Georgia, United States, on Friday, July 15. The session conducted the A, B, C and D finals in the Women’s 100m back-stroke race.
ABSC’s Megan Romano snared the 100m back-stroke A Final in a triumphant time of 1 minute and 01.05 seconds. Laure Manaudou earned the second spot in 1 minute and 01.12 seconds, while Kristen Shickora finished third in a time of 1 minute and 01.65 seconds.
Lauren English wound up fourth in 1 minute and 02.54 seconds, whereas, Emily Bos settled fifth in a time of 1 minute and 02.59 seconds.
Kelsey Gaid of ABSC secured first spot in the Women’s 100m back-stroke B Final with a time of 1 minute and 03.81 seconds, while Olivia Scott was placed second in 1 minute and 03.98 seconds. Taylor Schick finished third in a time of 1 minute and 04.37 seconds.
Rebecca Brooks earned fourth place honours in 1 minute and 04.63 seconds, whereas, Hannah Riordan grabbed fifth spot in 1 minute and 04.70 seconds.
In the Women’s 100m back-stroke C Final, Lillie Smith captured first spot with a sterling time of 1 minute and 05.22 seconds. Hannah Martin wound up second in 1 minute and 05.34 seconds, whereas, Konnor Rist earned third place honours in 1 minute and 05.51
seconds. Stephanie Forlenza wound up fifth in a time of 1 minute and 05.52 seconds.
Meanwhile, Kristina Brandenburg of Card secured a stunning victory in the Women’s 100m freestyle back-stroke D Final with a winning time of 1 minute and 04.89 seconds. DYNA’s Nicole Stafford wound up second in a time of 1 minute and 04.99 seconds, whereas,
Claire Liu rounded out the top three swimmers in 1 minute and 06.05 seconds.
Ashley LeClair finished fourth in 1 minute and 06.13 seconds, while Morgan Lyons settled fifth in a time of 1 minute and 06.15 seconds. Courtney Ciesielski surprisingly finished eighth in a time of 1 minute and 07.60 seconds.
