Mehdy Metella clinches Men’s 100m butterfly gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Mehdy Metella of Dolphins Toulouse OEC pocketed gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on opening day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Thursday, November 15.
Metella showered his expertise in the 100m discipline as he went full rampant in the playoff of the discipline and secured the title. With his gruelling efforts, he remained prominently ahead of his toughest competitor and reached the wall for gold medal.
Metella remained half a body length faster from his following swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by clocking a time of 51.30 seconds.
The champion was chased by Rafael Munoz Perez of CN Marseille, who was 0.57 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with an effort of 51.87 seconds.
Munoz was traced by Jordan Coelho of Etampes Natation, who was only one stroke slower and stepped on the podium for bronze medal by submitting a time of 52.15 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Romain Sassot of Lyon Natation, who stayed 0.33 seconds slower and tapped the wall for fourth position with a timing of 52.48 seconds.
Fifth spot of the race was obtained by Joris Desmaret of Montpellier Anuc, who stayed 1.01 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and clocked an effort of 53.49 seconds.
Desmaret was traced by Hugo Lambert of CN Chalon-Sur-Saone, who stayed 0.42 seconds slower and concluded his race in a time of 53.92 seconds for sixth place.
Lambert was chased by Paul Lemaire of Dauphins Toulouse OEC, who was just an inch slower from his foregoing finisher and occupied seventh spot of the race in a time of 54.03 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Maxime Jacomelli of Forbach Agglomeration Natation, who stayed 0.33 seconds away from upsetting his preceding swimmer and concluded his race in a time of 54.36 seconds.
In addition, Metella expressed happiness over his victory in the 100m discipline and articulated that he would try hard to impress his supporters by accomplishing the same at forthcoming 2012 World Short Course Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
