Meile Solaris. Power cord connection

Meile Solaris. Power cord connection faulty. Unit powers on/off when cord is being retracted/pulled out. Maybe a break in wire close to connection point in vacuum. Or, the connection point itself is loose? The problem likely resulted from trying to use vacuum at furthest extent of cord.
