Real Betis Boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 Mel, has warned his players that Las Palmas will give them a tough time when they encounter them in the Copa del Rey tonight.
Betis coach thinks his side’s visit to the Canary Islands for their first leg of the last-16 Copa del Rey clash will be a tricky one.
Mel believes his side is in for a good fight as they face a team that has players who are full of experience. He admitted that Las Palmas cannot be taken lightly as they are doing great this season.
“We will not face a Segunda Division team, but a side full of experienced players; they are doing very well this season so far.”
The Spanish tactician is urging his players not to expect an easy encounter. He stated that coming away with all the three points will not be an easy task for his side; hence, his players will have to earn it.
“Thinking that this will be easy will be a mistake. Winning will not be easy, because at their ground they are going to make things very difficult.”
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old also revealed that he will make some changes in his starting line-up for tonight’s clash.
“Tomorrow I will make some changes, but those that will play will have many games of experience in La Liga.”
The Beticos boss is trying to balance things out. Next match in the domestic league, Betis will play against Celta Vigo. That is why Mel is rotating his players. However, he made one thing clear that whoever plays in the encounter will get plenty of action
in the Primera Division.
Finally, the former Rayo Vallecano boss believes winning the Copa del Rey is the best way to get to Europe.
“We will play an XI with consideration towards both the Cup and the weekend’s League match against Vigo. I still believe that this competition is the easiest way to get into Europe.”
Real Betis have had an impressive start to the season. They are not far off from the European places. At the moment they are on the 5th position with 25 points.
