Real Betis boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 Mel, has admitted that his side were very lucky to win against Celta Vigo on Monday.
The Andalusians managed to come away with all the three points against Celta Vigo, thanks to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Molina’s late goal.
Although Mel is excited with the three points they managed to get at the Balaidos, he believes a share of spoils with Celta would have been a fair result for both sides.
The tactician admitted they were lucky in the encounter and thinks their hosts did not deserve to lose the match since they played well.
“Today we had that bit of luck to win, because Celta did not deserve to lose.”
The Spaniard revealed that his main mission is to ensure the survival of Betis in the Primera Division. For him everything else is secondary. He admitted that the club is going through some financial issues.
The strategist also added that he has a squad that is full of young and inexperienced players.
“Our top priority is to ensure League survival. We are a club with financial problems and we are using many young players.”
The former Getafe boss commented on the impressive run his team has managed to do in the league this season. He described it as a dream and is committed to continue on this direction and never let go of it.
“Now we are living the dream, we have to hold on to it and not let go.”
“The thing for this club is to be in the Primera Division.”
Finally, the 49-year-old shared his thoughts on the team’s upcoming match with Real Mallorca. He said that they have to get ready for it and show the same intensity they displayed against Celta Vigo. He is convinced that it will be a challenging encounter.
“It will be a difficult game. To win this game we have to have at least the same intensity that we showed today [on Monday]. The players have made a great effort here, I’m very happy.”
Real Betis are currently flying high in La Liga. They are sitting on the 5th position with 28 points.
