Melanie Henique claims Women’s 100m butterfly gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Melanie Henique of Amiens Metropole Nat. claimed gold medal of the Women’s 100m butterfly on day three of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Saturday, November 17.
Henique stayed in a wonderful lead over her closest rival throughout the race and cruised her way towards the finishing end for the crown.
With her impeccable efforts in the start, Henique enjoyed a full body length lead over her following swimmer and posted a wonderful time of 58.35 seconds for gold medal.
The champion was followed by Charlotte Bonnet of Olympic Nice Natation, who stayed 1.28 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing wall for silver medal by reporting a time of 59.63 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Anna Santamans of Olympic Nice Natation, who stayed only half a body length slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the finishing end for third position by producing a time of 1 minute and 00.10 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Sophie de Ronchi of ES Massy Natation, who remained 0.02 seconds slower from her former finisher and settled on the finishing blockade for fourth position by posting an effort of 1 minute and 00.12 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the discipline was secured by Armony Dumur of Amiens Metropole Nat., who remained only 0.04 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 00.16 seconds.
Dumur was traced by Pernille Blume of Denmark, who was 0.22 seconds behind and tapped the finishing blockade for sixth position by posting a time of 1 minute and 00.38 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was secured by Mathilde Cini of Valence Triathlon, who was 0.11 seconds apart and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 00.49 seconds.
Cini was trailed by Magali Rousseau of Montauban Natation, who was only 0.04 seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 00.53 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Henique was overjoyed with her gold finish in the event and raked medal after the session.
