  1. Well, for shopping, you must hit Bridge Rd, as well as DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) in the city - it's a Spencer St Station. There are lots of great places to eat around the city, as well as Lygon St in Carlton. I don't know for dancing, but you can find these packs of cards that give you all the cool spots in and around the city. They're called Bar Secrets Melbourne or Shopping Secrets Melbourne etc. Each card has a picture and description of the place on one side, and a map pinpointing it's exact location on the other. They're the best!

  2. Ooo, ooo!! Go to Brunetti's Italian Pastry Shop. Can't think of exact location (haven't been there), but my mate in Oz raves about the place. I'm a major cake and cookies glutton here in the states, so when she was visiting, we went round to all the places I love to eat. She's never stopped telling me about Brunetti's since returning home to roost.

    Have a great trip!

  3. I would recommend you start looking around the city. Catch the train or a tram, and once you are into the city take some time to just walk around. You will find lots of nice little cafes in the laneways, you just have to look around. The botanic gardens are nice if you like picniccing lol or theres the aquarium... Luna park.. lots of things to do, try googling it!

For Italian food Lygon St. in Carlton is popular, for Asian food go to Chinatown and swanston st, or you can try the restaurants at Crown casino for dinner.

For shopping,. it depends on what you like... for Surf fashion visit any surf shop, like the billabong or roxy shops in the city... for a general mix of teen fashion in one place try the basement in myer.. Or If you like designer fashion try the uber posh Chapel St in South Yarra. If you  like malls then Chadstone is the biggest shopping centre in the Southern Hemisphere.

As for night spots, I would start with the Crown Casino centre at Southbank... me and my friends have wanted to try out the nightclub 'Famous' there,,, but we havent gone yet :D please let me know what its like if you go! There are lots of nightclubs all around the city, so if you have friends here just take a look around at some.

    Hope you have fun here!

  4. Hi

My Girlfriend and I just returned from a trip to Melbourne.  Before we left we were told to look into going on a shopping tour as there is heaps of small boutiques that we wouldn't find on our own.

The tour that we ended up doing was absolutely fantastic, it saved us so much time and money.  I have included the link which will give you information on the tour that we did.
