children. I knew of no missing child until the 8th of August 14 hours after he was missing? The first 2 hours in a mising child's life is crucial. I don't care if this child was raised in an orphanage in India he is 9 years old and a obvious target for paedophiles so how come the public was not told sooner by the TV - picture of him on all the TV stations? Its now 4 days later ? Why are not the police rounding up known s*x offenders in the area and door knocking. in 1986 a 8 year old child went misisng in Griffith and there was a lot of activity looking for him (he was abducted and murdered by a sadistic paedophile) A 9 year old boy does not disappear into thin air - if he is not fallen into he creak then a paedophile has of abducted him in an opportunistic attack. Whats your thoughts??

  1. Yes, there are paedophiles out there, and we do need to be watchful of our children.

However, the majority of children who go missing turn up again quickly.  They run away from home, or stay with friends parents, completely unaware of the problems and fear they are causing.  How do I know?  One of my children did this at the age of 13.  Luckily she came home safe and sound.  But unfortunately this is not true for a few.

Also, bear in mind that very few children who suffer sexual abuse do so at the hands of a stranger ie paedophile.  Children are routinely abused by fathers, uncles, close family friends.  That is where the most danger is, not from strangers.  We teach our children 'stranger danger' but never warn them of what could occur at the hands of family or trusted friends.

  2. My thoughts are these, people dont care, and judging from the lack of responses here, it looks as if since his name is not madeline of European or American origin, but arabic/muslim, then its okay for him to disappear and that in my opinion is so sad.

I took my son and daughter once to Disneyland, I never let them off my hands, they were then four and six years old, what were this boys parents doing to allow this to happen to him ? they appear to be the most careless people I have ever known. My kids stay within view all of the time, the world today is full of too much worry and heartache, as parents we go through 9 months of waiting for a safe and healthy birth and then we go and do stupid things like losing them because of lack of attention. Wheres the justice in that ?

  3. It looks like the kid might not want to be found, the police say he is very street wise from his time spent in a Bombay orphanage and he has only been with that family a short time so maybe he feels he can do better by himself without them imposing restrictions on him.

To suggest that the police aren't looking for him or that nobody cares is ridiculous, but it's very hard to find someone that doesn't want to be found.
