Melbourne Rebels Danny Cipriani to miss next clash of Super Rugby
Melbourne Rebels fly-half Danny Cipriani has been ruled out of their next clash for by-passing his club’s code of conducts.
He will miss the upcoming match Super Rugby against the Queensland Reds, to be played on sixth May. Cipriani breached the discipline of his club by arriving late to his team’s hotel following their defeat to the Waratahs on 30th April.
Earlier on, he was charged with theft allegations as he tried to steal a Vodka bottle from a local casino, on February 18. He was clearly shown by CCTV cameras hiding a Vodka bottle in his trousers. The casino management didn’t report to police however they
informed the Melbourne Rebels officials about the incident.
Danny Cipriani, who also plays for England in the international competitions, has also disappointed his national coach Martin Johnson partly because of his unserious activities off the field. Danny has been linked to various clubs in Europe but there is
always something disturbing with his contract.
Cipriani was spared after a warning from the theft charges that he will be dropped from the side if breaches the discipline again. However, the caution didn’t work and he was found guilty again by coming late to the hotel along with another team mate Richard
Kingi.
Melbourne Rebels Chief Executive Officer Ross Oakley told the media about the incident. He said that both the players have been dropped from the upcoming match after violating clubs’ rules. He added that Players Standard Group of the team unanimously agreed
to drop the pair so that such incidents could be halted in the future.
The Rebels skipper Tim Davidson also confirmed the news and said that step has been taken due to a breach of team protocol. The skipper argued that Rebels team was very sensitive regarding the enforcement rules and these players have made them suffering
deliberately.
There are always some speculations about Cipriani’s future with Melbourne Rebels. He may quit from the side after the end of current Super Rugby season. The Rebels are also searching for his substitutes as they have approached to the Australian national
players Kurtley Beale and James O’Connor.
