Melky down to AAA!??

Question

I can't believe this. You guys may think he sucks and he needed to go, but he really meant a lot to me. He hit a home run right in front of me in the first Yankee game I went too. I always called him the "Melky Way". Another reason I like him a lot is because I was at a Yankee game once and he said hi and waved to me.

I really want him back up to the Bronx. I had a dream of playing on the Yankees in a few years and playing with him. I don't want any stupid answers from Red Sox fans saying "Oh get over it he sucked" or something.

He hit a home run in front of you and then they sent him down? How dare they! It's no wonder the team is struggling with management decisions like that!

I'm just giving you a hard time, of course. Something like that is something you'll always remember. In 1997 I saw Edgar Martinez get a triple on ball that bounced off Paul O'Neill's head...I've never forgotten that myself.

But don't worry, they sent him down because they want him to get better. It's not a permanent assignment at all. They need to shake up the team and he still had options so he didn't need to clear waivers. He will probably be back with the September callups.

You can't tell how it's going to end up. He could be back in two weeks. Gardner just batted 0-4 tonight so who knows. Melky is the man and everyone loves him.

Melky was a fan favorite, but the stats don't lie. Sentimental reasons weren't enough to keep him.
