Vyacheslav Melnikov believes that the defending Russian Premier League champions can still reach the knock-out stages of the UEFA Champions League despite the poor start
Former Zenit Leningrad midfielder, Vyacheslav Melnikov, has insisted that the defending Russian Premier League champions will claim all three points in the upcoming league tie against Dynamo Moscow at Arena Khimki on Saturday.
Melnikov revealed that Luciano Spalletti’s men are looking in good shape at the moment despite losing the top-spot on the league table before the end of the first round in the Russian championship.
And while most of the senior football analysts and pundits think that Spalletti will find it difficult to claim all three points against the Moscow-based club given that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello called more St. Petersburg club players as
compared to Dynamo, Melnikov thinks otherwise.
The former FC Volga Gorky player is of the belief that the Italian tactician knows how to get the desired results.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Renat-Yanbayev-c30821 made substitute appearances
in the contest.
Russian national team and the White-Blues striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandr-Kokorin-c4576, completed 67 minutes after being replaced by Spartak Moscow’s Artem Dzuba in the second-half of the match.
“It's no secret that psychology plays a key part in the preparation of the team as well as the fulfilment of the players coaching facilities. After all, if any player has some psychological problems, he prepares for the game differently
and comes to the training in a different mood.”
“But I do not think that it will be a problem for Zenit as they have a fantastic coach. In recent matches, Spalletti have achieved decent results. This suggests that Zenit have players who always fight to the end.” Soviet Top League
winner was quoted as saying.
Speaking on the St. Petersburg cub’s below par start to the UEFA Champions League campaign, Melnikov lamented the Russian outfits position on the group table and hoped to see them in the knock-out round of the European tournament.
