The Byrne trained black dog, Melodys Lucky, will cash on his good luck to lift the ace title of the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 18 here at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night, August 4. The Open Race over 550 yards is scheduled to start at
21:30 (GMT).
Pursuing the prize cheque worth €250, the two-year-old novice runner will compete against five strong rivals. He will break from the orange box.
Melodys Lucky’s career chart is adorned with iconic feats. Debuting on February 23, 2012, the dashing dog broke his maiden by winning an A3 race over 600 yards on May 12. He moved on to get a third and a runner-up position during the same month.
