Members of the US Congress have Universal Health Care, why won't they give it to the rest of us?

Congress, yes that also includes the Bush's and the Cheney's, have the best health care plan in the world. Why do the American people not demand the same?

Because the taxpayer $$$ cannot stretch that far.  They need the best health care, so they can work their hardest to spend taxpayer $, ruin the country and think of schemes to stay in power.  If they had bad health care, they might get sick and won't be able to spend our $$$.

which is why some cross into America for medical care.

The military has "universal health care", and trust me, you get what you pay for.

Congress' health care is elitist, they are taken to some of America's top facilities.  This simply cannot be expanded to all Americans and be kept anywhere near the same quality.  There simply isn't the capacity at the medical centers nor the money to make this happen.

Congressmen are crooked.  95% of them are on the take, and the other 5% are liers. They shouldnt get what we dont get.

Congress, like our military, are our EMPLOYEES.

This is entirely different than being a normal tax-paying citizen. I will pay for the health care of my employees because they (in theory) earn it. I will not pay for the health care of my fellow citizen because they have not earned it and I don't owe it to them.

Because we would have to pay more in taxes, maybe, and we are cheap...or maybe it is because we are afraid every minute thing would be nitpicked to death by some governmental entity....could be that some backwards folks think that would be the same as socialism or communism....or possibly because we think that, in general, the US has a pretty good way of doing things, medically speaking....I for one, think it is mostly because the Health Insurance folks have big, BIG lobbyists.....but it is likely in reality a combination of all of those.
