  1. I've retired from the insurance business after 30 years, and have never heard the terminolgy.

    Do you mean 'Membership Specialist" or "Insurance Specialist" or "General Agent"?

    A membership specialist sells memberships in auto clubs, such as AAA, or ACA (American Automobile Club, Auto Club of America)

    An insurance specialist sells the clubs insurance products.

    A general agent represents insurance companies as an independent contractor.
