i have a tattoo on my lower back and it is half finished. i need to go back and get the rest of the details done and i had a quote to go above it. originally it was supposed to say " no easy way from the earth to the stars" but then my sister went and got that exact phrase done on her tattoo (she KNEW i was getting it but did it anyway without asking how id feel about it) the tattoo is in memory of our mom who died of liver failure when i was 13. what are some good memorial quotes u can think of? all i could think of is "may angels lead you in"

any other ideas?

if ur going to tell me NOT to get it then save ur time... if u are anti tattoo then dont answer and if u have nothing constructive to say then dont answer

i dont really want to get her name or initials or even the dates of her death... i just want a nice quote about loss/death/ heaven/angels etc u get the idea

my mother was irish if that gives u any inspiration

thank u

  1. First, let me say Im sorry for your loss, and your sister is a b*tch for taking your idea and not asking if you could share it or asking what you thought about using it.

But anyways, you could get the original quote you wanted, but maybe in latin? Or irish/gaelic.

But I do like the second quote idea you came up with.

I really like the first one though, so I think you should get it done it another language. It ties in with the stars tattoo and if you got the angel quote, it really wouldnt tie in well, know what I mean?

You and your sister sharing the quote isnt a bad idea, since its in memory of your mom, and if you dont want it to look the same, the quote in another language would give you a different, more personal and unique tattoo.

    Hope this helps!

  2. First off I would like to start by saying I'm really sorry about your mom. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my mother.

I really love that idea. But let me think and see if I can come up with something else.

"Pictures fade away but memory is forever"

"I've lost the best part of my day But it's better where you're going anyway"

This is a great song, maybe you could pull something from here.

  3. Well, even though your sister got that quote, it is still beautiful.  If it meant something special to you, or if your mom liked it, etc.  there is no reason why you couldn't get it too.  Maybe put different things around it, but have the same words.  Use a different font, you know, make it your own.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

  4. May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields and,

Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

    Irish Blessing

    It's an irish blessing...

I was thinking the "May God hold you in the palm of His hand"

  5. I have four tattoos and one is in memory of my parents. Who both passed away in 1996. I am sorry to hear about your mom. Mine for my parents says in loving memory of mom and dad. You could go with angel always with me, always with me. It just depends on you and what you like. I have two sister in laws and the three of us having matching tattoos.  It may be alright for you and your sister to have the same saying.

  6. well being that it is in memory of your mother, there is nothing wrong with you and your sister having the same quote.  maybe you can look up  how to say the original quote in irish gaelic?

  7. Firstly, I want to say sorry for your loss and I personally, think it is great that you going to/got a tattoo in memory of her.

I like 'may angels lead you in' but I know couple of quotes that I am in love with and even better they are irish!

    They are of the following:

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rains fall soft upon your fields and,

Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

(but you could only use the last line which I think is effective)

May you always walk in sunshine.

May you never want for more.

May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door.

Let me/us know what you chosen in the end and maybe even post a picture as I am sure it would look amazing.
