  1. 10 lines/day minimum to as much as you can.

After Isha prayer read a few ayah, repeat 5- 10 times. Do not watch TV, or indulge in any discussions or browsing until you go to bed. Before fajr prayer revise those ayah again. You will find them imprinted on your brain just like an image.

Periodic revisions, taraweeh just help to freshen the Hifz, what matters most is the first image of the Ayah.

Currently I am doing my PhD. I can say confidently that it was my Hifz-e-Quran which helped me in every stage of my academic career.

If you cannot finish it in 2 years then dont try .....

  2. what you need is dedication. First have that, and then think about memorizing Quran. The more dedicated you're, the lesser time it'll take for u to memorize Quran.

  3. it is recommended that we keep a regular schedule or time for memorisation.  So even if you memorise just one verse in a week or one verse per day, but that you are regular at it.  In many Islaamic schools the students are expected to memorise a page everyday.  so this one really depends on your time and ability.

one can memorise depending on his/her ability, and ofcourse review everything you have memorised *atleast in a weekly basis.

the best times to memorise are after fajr and between maghrib and isha time.  Scientifically speaking, after learning a thing, if we go to sleep, it refreshes everything we learned by the time we wake up.  So you might want to also review before going to sleep and check if you remember them well when you wake up.  whatever works best for u.  but there is blessing in reading at cirtain times, i.e. after fajr.

have someone to correct your tajweed of  recitation, this will prevent one from memorising with mistakes and later having to memorise all over again with correct sounds.

A good way to review and practice is to recite the newly memorised verses in daily prayers.  When you know 1 juz, review it regularly, when 15 juz, review them in a three day period... and the like (i forgot the exact words of the sheikh who advised this, so just mentioning what i recall)

the length of time needed to memorise the full Qur'aan depends on different people's ability and amount of time given per day/week.  Some took 20 months, some took 2 or 3 years and some even longer.

The Qur'aan was revealed through 23 yrs of time period, this is how the prophet memorised it.  What is also important is to learn the meaning of what you are memorising and when that verse was revealed etc. if that's possible for you.

Also to keep note, if you are getting mixed up, it is important to take your time and get it to stick in the brain properly before adding much more on top.

    additional info:

Qur'aan has 30 parts or juz, and total of 114 chapters or surahs.

  4. there are 30 chapters.. if you would like to read a chapter a day for a month you finnish the book. but it is going to take you a lot more than reading the quran once. it takes dedication. try to focus on one ayyah at a time. once you have that memorized, move along. take it slow and you will do fine. allah ma3ik

  5. It takes years to memorize the Quran by heart, and years more to strengthen it. I myself am memorizing the Quran and Alhamdulillah, I have memorized four juzu'.

It doesn't really matter how many Ayahs you memorize a day, although you start small first. The most important thing in memorizing the Quran is: you need a TEACHER.

After that, the path becomes clear. Good luck!

  6. there is no simple answer to your question

i finished my hifz in one year when i was 11 (5 years back)

i used to concentrate reviseing the parts which were done rathen than memorising new lesson

however depends on person to person

i started from half page a day and kept on increasing to last 5 parts in one week

    my routine was as follows

from fajr till duhr nonstop class with a 15 min breakfast break

    then lunch and gym

then from asr till ISHA nonstop with magrib prayer break

then after ISHA immediately sleep no TV or any thing

the I used to wake up 1 hour before fajr and revice the new lesson that i memorised the last day

this was my routine for 5 days of the week

  7. It was much easier to become a Hafiz in the days before mass literacy, printing presses and computers, when people had to have a much greater perspicacity for memorization.  As a result, having committed all 80,000 verses to memory wasn't anything too special.

But in the 21st Century, doing so is quite an accomplishment.  It would probably take years of careful study.  There are schools that can help you along the way.

  8. Memorizing Quran is not so easy and only God makes it easy to be memorized by his servants and it depends on your mind , but please when you memorizing  what you can a day just still repeating it until it will be fixed in your mind more you will forget it and confusing it .In my opinion it is better to memorize the short chapters at first and don't start from chapter(The cow) it is too much and you will be shocked .

  9. I also trying to find an answer to this question. So far I have found this, which I am still downloading, so I cannot say whether it is good or not:

I rememeber Dr. Zakir Naik {a muslim scholar} saying in one of his talks he used the 'Pegging' system to memorise the Qur'an , I emailed him to find out more a few months ago, and recently, but I not got an answer from him, he is busy doing Dawah around the world, may Allah be pleased with him.

Also read memory books, 'The link system', 'pegging', 'association/image association technique', Tony Buzan' Study Skills Handbook may be a good foundation to start on, but by no means thorough.

    I hope this helps.

  10. Don't count Ayahs, because Ayahs can be really small and really big. Count lines.

It depends on how long you've been memorizing, and how much you can do. If you're just starting, you should start with 7-10 lines, and gradually go up.

Most importantly, ALWAYS review what you've already memorized every single day.

  11. Im done 20 Juz(paras) and i do a page in 16 line quran

and im spoose to be dont in 10 more months

    INSHALLAH

EDIT: It took me a year and 2 months to finish 20 so if yur wondering
