Memory Cards????

Question

can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between a cheap and expensive memory cards?

- i'm looking at a 4GB SD card on Amazon- one's £5 and then another £20

The difference is the brand/quality. I would recommend searching for reviews about each brand and see if the cheaper brand has errors or common problems. The brand I use is made by Scan Disk, and his has worked just fine for about 2 years.

And as for space, you will probably never fill up that 4GB drive unless you film your own citcom ^_^, or if you never archive your pictures on your computer. The best of luck to you.

no they are all the same thing.. it just depends on the seller of the card.. get the cheaper one

Not all memory cards are the same.

The premium cards may be faster so your cameras screen doesn't go black for as long whilst its saving the data.

Also they will have a longer guarantee - 5 years or even a lifetime warranty, and less likely to give up and take all your photos with you.

Generally, if its a lexar premium, or other premium brand then that's why.

Other than that all the other brands are similar.

There are some difference. although sometimes its just a matter of brand and warranty (usually the cards with the longer warranties cost more) there is also another factor. SPEED. some cards are a little faster than others. in the case of Compaq Flash cards there speed can vary. although the basic specs stay the same, a card with faster read/write time will allow  your camera to store the information faster and be ready for the next image sooner. sometimes they are labeled as "professional" or "Gold" but those are more catch phrases that the manufacturer uses. if you check the specs at the manufacturer sites for further details.

it depends on if it is used or not. if its used the go for the one that is 5 pounds and if not go for the 20 pounds
