  1. Well, since nobody else seems to be answering, I can tell you a few things bout Atlanta:

    1. Its HOT.

    2. Its booming. The job market is good, the housing market not-so-much, but that's everywhere right now.

    3. There's a real problem with drought.

    4. There's also a real problem with tree pollen, which doesn't really matter unless you're allergic.

    5. I like living here. Something new is always going up. There's lots of neat stuff to do, world of coke, zoo atlanta, worlds largest aquarium, we have a medieval times, I can go on and on. Plus, it's huge. Can't find what you like here? Go one 'burb over.

    6. Its worth mentioning that we have awful traffic. I think its the third worst commute in America.

  2. Bowling Green - totally boring unless you're married with a family.  Only thing to do there is visit the Corvette Museum!  Best thing about it is that it is so close to Nashville, TN.

Memphis is okay, but has some really seedy areas.  Our nanny just moved there and was really bummed at first.  Now she likes it a lot more.  Jackson, one of the suburbs, is nice, but more family-oriented.

Tallahassee is great for college partying, but I personally think sucks for eating out and shopping, etc.  It gets cudos only because it is so close to the "Emerald Coast" - the world's most beuatiful beaches.  I am speaking of the Destin - Ft. Walton beach areas.

Atlanta is not called Hotlanta for nothing.  I  LOVE it!  Traffic and all!  We go there all the time.  Sometimes to party, sometimes with the kids, sometimes to visit college friends or shop.  There is so much to do there - the Braves, the shopping, the cultural activities, the zoo, Six Flags theme park, Stone Mountain, concerts of all sorts at the Fox at the Lakewood Amphitheater at the Dome, there are just so many things that when we enter the Atlanta area there seems to be an excitement in the air.  (Forgive my bad punctuation above, but I get carried away.)

Atlanta is expensive, the traffic sucks, crime is bad at times in certain areas, etc.  BUT, I have never had a problem there - not when I was living there, going to work there or visiting there.

BTW, I grew up near Tallahassee, we did our training in Kentucky and have many friends and family in Tennessee, so I feel like I have a working knowledge of all of your choices.

    Good luck!

  3. I am a former student of FSU and I have been to all the cities listed as your interests. Florida by far will be the most rewarding in many aspects. The over all cost to live is cheaper and the job market in the area of campus is pleasingly easy to commute to and from. Atlanta and Memphis are both excellent choices also .But as a student the more money you keep in your pocket for what ever happens .

Id go back to FSU any day for many reasons and all of them are practical and fun.

  4. BGSU is in Ohio, not BG Kentucky.  It's a pretty rural area, although there are plenty of college hangouts and lots of social options since it is such a big school.  It's nice bc students stay on campus on weekends so there is more of a community feel.  The downside is that you're pretty far away from any big city (Detroit is not all that!) and I wonder about the availability of job opportunities during the school year.

Also, it does get really cold and windy and snowy for the long winter.

  5. Atlanta would be great because of the amount of diversity you can find in such a big metropolatin area.

Tallahassee:  I wouldn't recommend the city itself for anything.  It's a very "small-town" type of mind-set that still has a LOT of racial tensions.  However, as someone else mentioned it's close to the emerald coast.  If you like to party, then FSU is your choice. Panama city (hotspot for spring breaks) is only bout an hour & a half away.
