Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers: Looking into the Western Conference Playoffs contenders – NBA Feature Part 3
4. Memphis Grizzlies
The fourth team in the Western Conference will be the Memphis Grizzlies who finished the season with a win loss record of 41-25, tied up with the mighty Los Angeles Lakers courtesy of their six game winning streak
to end the season and having won 13 of their last 16 games of the regular season.
The current line up of Tony Allen, Rudy g*y, Marc Gasol and company present themselves as an extremely efficient unit, one which nobody wants to play. In Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, the Grizzlies have a great
tandem at centre and power forward, meaning that they do present a formidable force down in the post.
In Rudy g*y they have got themselves a dead lock scorer who has all the capabilities of taking over a matchup at any point of the game. Tony Allen is regarded as ‘the thief’ for getting his hands in the passing
lane of the opponents on more than a few occasions and will be looking to do the same, come playoff time.
If there first unit is strong, so is their second unit with the likes of Zach Randolph and O.J. Mayo in it, Grizzlies have got one of the perfectly balanced unit in the league. The Randolph factor will be the
pivotal point of Memphis`s success in the post season.
With the recent addition of Gilbert Arenas to their roster, Grizzlies have been able to get their hands on one of the most clutch shooter. Arenas, is known for his prowess from beyond the arc and has sunk in
quite a few buzzer beating match winners in his career.
Memphis will be looking to continue their run of getting past the first round of the playoffs, having downed the mighty San Antonio Spurs last year. However they face a completely different challenge this time
around as they go up against the Los Angeles Clippers.
5. Los Angeles Clippers
The ‘Lob City’ phenomenon and the Clippers, who have always been regarded as the second team from L.A, have come out this season into a fairly new position for them.

Has this all been possible due to the addition of one player? The answer to this question can go either way but this can be said without a doubt that the acquisition of Chris Paul in the off season has helped
the Clippers become playoff contenders this season.
However, it has been a slow rebuilding process for the team from Hollywood as they slowly but steadily put together the pieces. They added, Caron Butler and Mr. Big Shot, Chauncey Billups as well thus two  along
with Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan brought together an extremely function team for the Clippers.
Since the start of the season, Clips have taken the entire NBA by storm with their fast paced and highlight reel style of play. With Griffin being the focal point of this style of game with his explosiveness
and physical ability, Clippers present an eye pleasing aspect of the game. Even though the Clippers have been able to adapt this high flying style, come playoff time will be a true test of their ability when the intensity of all the other teams as at an all
time high.
However the basic functionality of this team lies in the hand of Paul who, with his exquisite passing style and good decision making, has been the leader and has been responsible for most of the team scoring,
whether getting the job done on his own or by dishing out the assists.
They will be looking to make the most of this playoff experience as they go up against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round and will be hoping to prolong their recent rise to being one of the top contenders
in the Western Conference.
