A Team with Efficiency
Efficiency is one of the key components for any team to achieve the ladder of success in NBA. Memphis Grizzlies might not be the most experienced squad in the league however they are among the most efficient teams which is one
of the reason they had an outstanding 2010-2011 season.
In the last season, the streaking Memphis Grizzlies committed only 14 turnovers per game which was the 12th lowest in NBA. In an estimate per 100 plays, Memphis is ranked at the ninth spot for the turnover percentage which is (.130).
Talking about the player efficiency rating, most of the Memphis Grizzlies’ players had above average rating which makes the Grizzlies a team with great efficiency. The veteran power forward Zach Randolph, who is also the best player
in the team, led the squad with 22.7 efficiency rating and as a result he was included in the list of players having best efficiency. Tony Allen also had a tremendous rating of 18.4 points behind Randolph.
Seeing that Memphis Grizzlies is an efficient team, they only need to get a little more experienced especially at the big platform to become the powerhouse in the Western Conference.
A Team with strong Defence
While Memphis Grizzlies have players like Zach Randolph, Rudy g*y and Mike Conley who keeps the score board ticking with their exceptional shooting abilities, the defence of the team is also very strong which makes them a strong
team on both the ends.
The big man Marc Gasol is the backbone of the defensive system of the team who knows how to knock down the sharp shooter of the opposition. In the last season, Memphis Grizzlies allowed only 97.6 points per game which shows their
toughness as a defensive team. The major strength of Grizzlies defence is their ability of forcing turnovers which opens a number of opportunities for the team.
On top of that, four players of Memphis averaged more than 1 steal per game which shows everybody’s involvement in making the team a defensive threat.
Rudy g*y is set to breakout
After the rookie season, the 25 year old small forward Rudy g*y became an offensive threat in no time and is one of the big reasons alongside Zach Randolph behind Memphis Grizzlies domination on the front court.
In the last season, Rudy took his game to the next level by proving himself as a versatile player and posted a career best in every aspect of the game. Talking about the shooting abilities, Rudy g*y finished the 2010-2011 season
with a career best shooting percentage from the field, three-point range and from the charity strip. Apart from posting 19.8 points per game in the last season, g*y also registered a career-high 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.7 steal and 1.1 blocks per game
which shows how big he has improved as a player.
This tremendous transformation of Rudy g*y in the last season will only help Memphis Grizzlies top get better in the coming years.
Memphis Grizzlies now have three threatening players Zach Randolph, Marc Gasol and Rudy g*y and has the potential to make the franchise one of the toughest teams in the Western Conference and they have already proved it in the
last season.
Considering the strength and talent on the team, it's pretty safe to say that Memphis Grizzlies is not far from becoming the powerhouse in the Western Conference.
