Memphis Grizzlies star Zach Randolph finding lockout tough – NBA Update

Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph has admitted that the off season has not been a breeze for him. The NBA is in lockout and the player revealed that life is not very rosy away from the league, especially with all the
restrictions that the lockout has brought along.
The NBA owners and players have been at loggerheads over the new CBA for about three months now and till the time this issue gets resolved, NBA bars team officials, coaches and owners from contacting players. The players also cannot
avail any medical services through their franchises; neither can they utilize any club training facilities.
This means that players like Randolph are pretty much out there on their own, working by themselves in local gyms, trying their best to stay in shape. Z-Bo finds this situation tough, according to an interview published by Sports
Radio Interviews.
“It’s really tough. I’m doing this new training called chameleon training. It’s like special ops and I’m just training and it’s really tough. The trainer said the training that I had been doing was illusion training, like I had
been doing fake training all these years. It’s something different for me and it’s good for me. I have just been working out with him every day, taking my daughter to school, and hoping we can get something worked out and get this season going on in time.”
Randolph has had the opportunity to spend some extra time with his family, but he has to focus on training as well. He does, like all other NBA players, want the lockout to end as soon as possible so that he can get back to doing
what he loves.
“I hope we can get it resolved, get something worked out, and be able to play this season.”
In the meantime, Z-Bo has been training harder and has even organized team training sessions.  The side has great aspirations for next season, especially Randolph. He was a beast during last season’s playoffs and led the Grizzlies
to an awe inspiring run. Randolph was the key man for the underdog Grizzlies, who fought their way through to the Conference Semi-Finals, sending first seeded San Antonio Spurs home in the process.
Although Z-Bo and his side lost out to Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team did gain a lot of self confidence from their exploits. They are now geared up for next season and their talismanic power forward cannot
wait to get his hands dirty once more.
