I have to agree with Maureen - my ex also wanted me to be the one to end the marriage. He made me life h**l, but every time I asked him if he wanted out, he denied it. I thought he was mentally ill (it runs in his family) so put up with it (better, worse, sickness, health kind of thing). But he was just obsessed with appearances and wanted to look like the good guy.

Fear of losing everything in court. But that's going to change soon.

The girl I was dating and living with could not afford to move out on her own and she had issues with depression.  She ended up in my extra bedroom for several months until she could afford to move out.  I don't know if it was a lame reason or just me trying to be nice.

I hated to see her cry.
