What happened? I cringed when everyone messed up. As competitive as it is, I hate seeing people fall in gymnastics!

What do you think happened? Every single competitor messed up!

  1. what do u mean? china won gold! im so happy!

  2. I don't remember the guy's name, but the Japanese gymnast that fell on the rings.  That, I think, was a fault of the ring.  Hs hand just slipped right off.  Otherwise, I think that it was just pressure that got to people.  With the team you've got everybody there yelling and supporting you, in this one you've just got everybody out for themselves and don't really do as much interacting with each other.  When you're on an island, it's much harder.  I definitely cringed at that rings fall.  Just looked all sorts of painful.

  3. It was a DISASTER I wanted to cry for all the gymnast that fell, especially the japanese gymnast.

It just shows you what nerves can do to you

  4. I know!! I cringed every time a guy fell or messed up badly. I don't know nerves I guess? It's weird because the commentators were talking about how some of these guys nailed it in team competition but didn't here. Maybe they put so much energy into that and not enough here maybe?

  5. I saw Mr Japan fell into the ground!

    I'm a fan of him

  6. i hate when people fall. i felt soo bad for that japanese guy and also, that really cute german guy!

  7. I quit watching right after the Japanese gymnast fell off the rings.

They just kept showing it ... even though it all happened in a split-second, watching it over and over in slow-motion, and realizing he could've landed on his HEAD!

Yeah, I want them ALL to do well, and I hate to see anyone mess up.  Especially in a situation like that where a fall could really hurt a competitor.  Losing a medal is one thing, but losing the use of your arms and legs for the rest of your life ... I don't want to watch that happen.

  8. When someone messes up this means someone else can win.

IMO this is a good thing as a few of the competitors who had absolutely no attention paid to them stepped up & took the silver & bronze.

These guys work just as hard as the ones who are spotlighted, so they deserve to win as well.

  9. It was quite a bad day for men's gymnastics. I felt terrible for the Japanese gymnast on rings! I don't know if it was a fault with the rings, it looked to me like his grip just gave way. Maybe he didn't chalk up enough. Overall, though, everyone seemed a bit stressed. Even Yang Wei wasn't doing as well as he normally does.

P.S. - The German was Fabian Hammbuecher, and yes, he was adorable!
