Question:

Men's Hair Styling- HELP!?

by  |  earlier

I'm going to a formal event tomorrow night, so I went to the barber today. He did a useless job! My hair looks awful! [and I'm not usually one who pays much attention to hair!]

I have no idea what to do with it... People have suggested using gel to style it but I've never done that before and wouldn't know where to begin- any tips?!?

It's relatively short hair- maybe an inch and a half long.

If you need additional details just ask!

Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. using gel is really easy, just put a 10p size amount in the palm of your hand, and rub your hand together then work it into your hair. if you want spiky hair then just push your fingers through from the front to the back, if you want a messy look then do as above but with a back to front stroke wiggling it about a bit then tweak some to stand up, it really depends what look you want. with a formal event don't think your hair has to be conservative. i would recommend dax rather than gel though as it will hold all hair types, but use a smaller amount and finally if your not happy with the cut go and tell the barber they are obligated to give you a re-cut or refund! i have been a hairdresser for 7 years so i hope this helps

  2. if your really unhappy book another hair appointment somewhere else and get them to sort it for you.....if its reasonable play about with it a bit with some wax maybe try and ruff up the middle mud wax is really good.
