Men's USA Olympic Basketball roster?

How come there are no Celtic players playing for USA? Are they even on the roster? e.g. Paul Pierce,Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen

I was actually just reading about this. The manager of USAB didn't want really old people like the celtics have unless they drastically helped the tam like JKidd does.

He cant talk c**p if hes not playing for his country like Kobe is.

I dont think Ray Ray would fit for the roster.

Its decent as it is, not only decent, but they WILL get the gold

It is because none of the three committed to the US team roster in 2006.  All of the US men's team is comprised of players who made that commitment back in 2006 and pleased Coach K and his staff enough to make the final cut.

The roster is made up of players that come together best as a team and not just an all-star team. They find a group of players that will work together and help make it a team game. The reason for Garnett not playing is because he decided he did not want to be on the team. There are other players out there that decide to sit out, like Tim Duncan. As far as Ray and Paul go, they just did not fit the teams needs.

No current Celtic is on the roster. Two part answer.  First Jerry Colangelo wanted to go a different direction with this team and save Jason Kidd, went really young with this team.  Many felt that the generation that brought us those three players were not the most team oriented players.  Second is that Ray Allen was actually invited but due to family issues he was not able to participate or willing to commit to the 2 years required.
