Question:

Men - Do you carry pocket pack tissues?

Now that handkerchief use has waned, and we still need to blow our noses, have men now taken to carrying those little pocket packs of tissues, or do you still just carry one single tissue? Or, as I expect, do men not carry tissues at all?

  1. If I had a cold I would at best carry a few, but have no room in pockets for tissues. I can always run to the nearest loo and get a resupply. I have not one mate of any age who carries them.

Part of it is rebellion against me mum who always put a nice little handkerchief in me pocket. I hated the bulge and never used anyway. What horrors people do to their children's self-image.

  2. It's ok,,, Who cares if it looks awkward to some.. I care for my self.

  3. Same as WAYNE C is, just keep them in my car. Age 45. If I am social and I need a tissue I go to the bathroom. If I know I am having to blow my nose a lot I will carry them with me.

  4. Two handkerchieves.

One fresh clean one in case someone else needs one, and one perhaps less rigorously fresh, mostly clean-ish one in case I need to blow my own nose.

    41.

  5. I always use a handkerchief unless my allergies are really bad or I have a bad cold in which case I'll buy some pocket packs. I hate not having something to blow my nose with if I need to.

    age 34

  6. Don't they just.. wipe it on their sleeve?

  7. I still use a handkerchief and have done for years. Less people do use them compared to years ago, however some still do. They are more comfortable on the nose, better for the environment, look classier and stop change rattling and falling out of my pocket. l'm 34.

  8. Most tissues are not strong enough for a man-sized blow or a sneeze.  Rather than have a hand full of snot, or produce an already-soggy tissue, I carry a handkerchief.  And it stops the small change from falling out of my pocket.

  9. If I have my messenger / business bag I will keep a pack of travel tissues with me plus I always have some in the car even more so as a parent.

Formally I will have a handkerchief always with me, but the tissue is for the messy side of things as they can be thrown away unlike a handkerchief which gets put back in your pocket. There's nothing worse than putting your fingers in snot when try to get some change or the handkerchief out of your pocket.

    Aged 33 and 1/3rd and 16 hours.......

  10. I'm not allowed to by the Guy Code.  I can carry them in my car, but not on my person.  Only exception is to a funeral, so I can offer a tissue to a woman.

So I am left with carrying a handkerchief.  Not gross unless one has a heavy cold.

Carrying a handkerchief was considered normal or neat for decades - I don't see a need to abandon it because some guys are too dumb to throw the dirty one in the laundry, or some women have decided the new trend to be "one step above the next person" in neatness is acting like a hankerchief is dirty rag from the plague ward.

  11. I carry napkins from fast food restaurants.

  12. i do carry pocket pack tissues but only in the car.

    age 41.
