finished... u know... Now before you gripe at me this question does not belong here, I was afraid if I put it in "Manners and Etiquette" I would not get male responses. I consider it an "issue" of sort.

So please don't report wrong category.

Thanks

  1. Certainly not. This is a women worry. A well-educated man knows by using public restrooms that some men do not worry to pee out of the toilet. So if we put it down, when we need to sit on it, we are going to have problem.

  2. 90% of the time I do.

  3. Nope, got me own lavatory that belongs to me.  No flowery soaps or doileys...just magazines and the seat in the up position.  OH YEAH!

  4. I put both the seat and the lid down.  There problem solved.

  5. Only if the woman I am living with at the time puts it up when she is finished otherwise I leave it in the position its in when I'm done.

  6. I leave it up.

    I also live alone.

  7. No, I leave it up so you can be assured that I did not pee on it. Smart one aren't I

  8. Yes, I put both the seat and lid down when finished.  It is not just basic manners.  Want a shock?  Put fluorescent powder in your toilet, turn out the lights, light up a black light and then flush the john with the lid open.  Then do it with the lid closed.

When you flush with the lid open you send quantities of atomized bodily waste all through your home.  Enjoy.

Edit in view of askers addition:

I live with my wife and 2 daughters.  I am outnumbered!  LOL

  9. Yes. Always.

  10. No.

I allow odour to out. If seat is down, odour will stay in pot.

I flush enough water for cleaning.

Open seat is easy for next user. If seat is down, next will have to do something before doing something. I allow others to use seat immediately.

  11. I do, because I love and respect my wife.  It is also easier to do that than listen to her gripe when i forget.

  12. Ok...."Just For "YOU!" Now, normally, "Yes!' But, How many of you women, "Lift the seat "Up" for us "Guys?" come on, All is fair in Love and War? If i am considerate enough to put it down? then, "Please show the same courtesy, and lift it "UP" when you are finished for "ME!" With all due considerations? I would "Feel much better if I saw the seat "Up" once in a while, about putting it "down" and probably "Remember to do It more Often?" But, this is of course, is Just My Opinion? or, something to really think about? Ha ha ha!!  "Peace!!! " :)

  13. Nope.  I live alone.  This "issue" is the tip of the iceburg as far as my life being easier as a result of that chioce.

  14. I grew up with several women and got into the habit of putting the seat down. Now I do it without even thinking about it.

  15. As many previous answers I live alone so I don't feel the need to put the toilet seat down unless a special occasion arises lol Actually living alone, I don't always even shut the door but it is like the tree falling in the forrest when nobody is there...does it really matter?

  16. No, My house! My Bathroom!

  17. No, I have to put the seat up, so why shouldn't a woman have to put it down?

  18. No. Why put it down just to have to put it up again next time?

  19. Got tired of the argument. Took it off and threw it away. Problem solved.
